Tournament Fees

$300 per team and includes Saturday social- food and beverages. 

Preliminary Schedule for the Weekend

• The Saturday Tournament is scheduled to start at 10 am. The KO times will be released one week prior to the tournament and will be based on the number of teams/games.

• The Saturday post-match social will be hosted by the Silverbacks at the Rugby Ranch. All food and beverages are included with your tournament registration.

Refund Policy

We understand that plans can change. A full registration refund is available  for team registration until October 1st. After this date, registration fees go directly towards covering tournament expenses and are non-refundable.

Player Registration

All players MUST BE REGISTERED as current players with USA Rugby. 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How old do you have to be? 

Players need to be 35 years old. As in already had their 35th birthday, not in their 35th year of life.

What is the Huns Rugby Ranch?

The Austin Huns have developed 32 acres in East Austin into one of the premier rugby complexes in the US. The property includes two full-size grass pitches with permanent posts as well as a full, covered social area.

How many games will each team play?

Rugby matches will be played exclusively on Saturday. The pool and tournament format will be determined by the number of registered teams. Ideally, each game will be 30-40 minutes long, and teams will play at least three matches throughout the day.

Do I need to be registered with USA Rugby to play?

Yes, this event is sanctioned by USA Rugby, so every player will need to be registered/CIPPed. International players and teams will require an approved waiver from USA Rugby and their home Union. We will provide details for an event registration option.

Where do we stay?

Austin is a destination city with countless hotel and short-term rental options. We recommend a hotel base in downtown Austin but can work with your club to find the best option in your price range. 

How big can our team roster be?

While size shouldn't necessarily matter, we recommend a roster of 25-30 players to ensure everyone gets sufficient, but not excessive, playing time.

Can non-players come as well? 

Of course! If your traveling group exceeds the expected size of ~30 players due to non-players, just let us know. This will help us plan the right social activities for the right size group.

What is the weather be like for the tournament?

Autum in Austin offers delightful weather. Expect comfortable daily highs in the mid-70s to low 80s and cool nights in the upper 50s to low 60s. You can look forward to plenty of sunshine and moderate humidity.
